Biology Advisor
Sarah Eisnaugle Bika is a researcher and educator with a strong background in cell biology and fungal genetics. She has led projects that explored fungal cell wall integrity, gene expression, and how cells respond to stress. Her work focused on the opportunistic pathogen Penicillium marneffei, and it helped deepen our understanding of how this organism adapts in challenging conditions.
Along with her work in the laboratory, she shared our research with the broader scientific community. Her findings were presented at international conferences, including a symposium in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and the Cell Wall Conference in Paris. These experiences supported scientific collaboration and encouraged the exchange of ideas across cultures.
As an educator, she teaches and mentors undergraduate students and promotes active learning and hands-on experiences. She brings her research background into the classroom to help students connect scientific ideas with real examples.
With experience in research and teaching, she is prepared to support meaningful scientific work and help guide future students and colleagues in the field.
